Meet Fearless: Introducing Rob Fink

We like to think our projects have an impact across the country, from our work with UMCES on their Integration and Application Network to the contracts we have with the Small Business Administration to revamp the SBA homepage and share HUBFinder with entrepreneurs from coast-to-coast.

But for the most part our team is working hard in Baltimore either at Spark or bwtech@UMBC. Except Rob Fink. Rob lives and works in Tampa. We’re not sure if there is a strong tech pipeline from Baltimore to Florida but maybe we could start it. And maybe we could increase the trend of employers pursuing would-be employees. Join Fearless for the AFCEA 5K

We are always on the lookout for ways to help develop future leaders in tech. We like to work on projects that help young people, like the Billion Oyster Project, and Sierra Seabrese is our rock star intern who is enrolling at the University of Maryland, College Park this fall.

We also look to foster the tech community’s future leaders outside the office. For several years Fearless has been a part of the AFCEA Central Maryland Chapter. The non-profit professional organization is a great way for folks in our universe to connect and learn from one another but we are most proud of the work AFCEA does for others. Meet Fearless: Introducing Pat Kelsh

Running is a big part of Pat Kelsh’s life.

At Fearless he runs tests for our work with the HUBZone program, and when he’s off the clock you might see him literally running.

Pat isn’t a casual weekend warrior, he’s conquered an Olympic distance triathlon and a half-marathon. Pounding the pavement isn’t just good for Pat’s health but he says it’s also been a great way for him to work out his mind. Continue reading “Meet Fearless: Introducing Pat Kelsh”

Fearless builds site for Internship Network of Maryland initiative

There are 360,000 college students in the state of Maryland and more than 165,000 companies in the state looking for their next great intern or hire. But often the students and companies that are looking for them are unable to connect. That’s where the Internship Network of Maryland comes in. SBA and USDS Announce New 8(a) Program Digital Service Initiative

The U.S. government has a massive suite of applications to maintain, but numerous barriers keep government agencies from easily matching with the digital services firms that could modernize their applications. This leaves many government sites outdated and difficult to navigate, and their unintuitive layouts and tired designs can leave your average user frustrated and dreading the next time they have to interact with the government online. So in an age where online experience is king, why have so many government agencies been left in the dust? Most agencies are open to modernization, but with complicated requirements, long procurement lead-times, and a lack of available resources and guidance, it’s no wonder that so many remain in the digital Dark Ages. Fearless Awarded Prime Contract with DoD

At Fearless, we’re proud to support the government by developing modern software that meets modern needs.

We’ve been lucky enough to work with a number of different government agencies since Fearless was founded 8 years ago, and we’re happy to announce that we’ve been awarded a prime contract to support the Department of Defense. Over the past several years, DoD has been embracing innovative software development projects, including Code.mil, a collaborative open source initiative, and DARPA’s recent Cyber Grand Challenge to discover software bugs and improve cybersecurity. Fearless named a finalist in BBJ’s Best Places to Work

Awesome team members and great company culture is kind of our thing. We recently had a team hooky day which included laser tag and beer tasting, and we outfit all of our team members in purple swag. But it’s more than goofy activities and hoodies that makes Fearless a great place to work.

We consider everyone on the team our family. And we’re psyched that our commitment to make Fearless the best environment for our employees is being recognized. Fearless is one of forty finalist for the Baltimore Business Journal’s Best Places to Work! Continue reading “Fearless named a finalist in BBJ’s Best Places to Work”

Meet Fearless: Introducing Shannon Shepherd

After 30 years in what she calls “serious, uptight places” Shannon Shepherd said coming to Fearless was like a breath of fresh air.

“It’s so laid back, and everyone still gets their jobs done,” she said.

Shannon said she knew Fearless was different from other companies when she read the job listing for a “right hand.” Continue reading “Meet Fearless: Introducing Shannon Shepherd”
